fabric care
Each piece from ocre natural dye studio is hand dyed using a selection of foraged, grown and sourced natural pigments. Due to the nature of natural dyes, it is recommended to wash sparingly and keep out of direct sunlight. This will help preserve the pigments as long as possible.
For functional pieces such as scarves, wash only when necessary and in this case, please hand wash using shampoo and conditioner. Iron on a medium heat. As silk is a protein, this will revitalise the shine in your garment.
Naturally dyed pieces are 'living' and interact with their environment throughout their life so you may witness some changes to their pigments. These changes are something to be celebrated as part of owning a natural product. However, if you feel your garment has faded over time,
I do offer a re-dye service to refresh pigments and tones. Sustainability is really important and your product has been made to weather seasons with you for as long as possible.
Drop me an email to arrange a re-dye service to refresh and nourish your product when needed.
