Composition - Natural dyes, oil pastels & gold leaf on habotai silk
 
Process - The piece is built up of layers of natural dyes embedded into silk using a variety of processes including vat dyeing, eco printing with foraged and dried plants, and modifying the dyes with different Ph to alter their tones. I then define the composition using oil pastel and gold leaf with textile glue. 
 
Care instructions - I recommend keeping naturally dyed artworks out of direct sunlight and areas of high humidity to preserve their delicate pigments. The framed textile is not protected by glass; if any dust gathers on the artwork, remove using a soft bristled paint brush.
